Congress MLA and former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy observing an indefinite fast in his native Nalgonda district unto death in support of the demand for separate Telangana, was forcibly arrested in Nalgonda and shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here in the early hours of Sunday.
Reddy had begun his fast on November 1 demanding that the Centre concede the demand for separate statehood for Telangana immediately.
Doctors had Saturday warned that if Venkat Reddy continues his fast for few more hours, he might slip into coma. He is reported to be running fever with lung and kidney infection.
Venkat Reddy had resigned as state minister last month to protest against the delay in carving out Telangana state.
