Police filed a case against Jagga Reddy under sections 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code for slapping Chakali Balra
Balraj's posers on the Re 1-a-kg rice scheme, the MLA slapped him without realising that his actions were being recorded by cameras of news channels. He flew into a rage when Balraj showed him a bag of poor quality rice supplied to him by a local fair-price shop dealer.
Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao and TRS politburo member R Satyanarayana demanded that the police book a criminal case against Jayaprakash Reddy and arrest him.
