Chanderpaul's unbeaten 111

Shivnarine Chanderpaul of the West Indies celebrates his century on the first day of the first Test against India in New Delhi on Sunday

Shivnarine Chanderpaul's unbeaten 111 (166b, 7x4, 2x6) helped the West Indies score 256 for five against India on the opening day of the first Test.

Chanderpaul smashed seven fours and two sixes during his 24th Test century to douse the enthusiasm of an inexperienced bowling attack that called the shots through spinners Pragyan Ojha and debutant Ravichandran Ashwin before the fourth-wicket stand.

The last time he played against M.S. Dhoni's men in a Test, Chanderpaul scored an unbeaten 116 at Roseau in July.
