AP Junior Doctors call off their long period strike

Agitating Doctors in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday called off their nearly month-long stir following an assurance from the government that their demands will be met. The breakthrough came following talks the junior doctors held with the State Medical Education Minister K Murali Mohan in the week hours today.

Junior doctors' strike, Death toll in state hospitals

In the State capital, more than 70 senior doctors were roped in from different departments in Osmania and Gandhi hospitals,However, the measures taken by the government failed to instil confidence in patients who were found leaving the hospitals at some of the places, including here. At the 1,000-bed King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam, around 30 per cent of the patients got discharged expressing fear that things might not improve. Full Article

AP: Junior doctors' hunger strike enters 7th day AP: Junior doctor's who are agitating for hike in the stipend among other things, entered the seventh day on Tuesday,The condition of two of them was serious, said Phani Kumar, a representative of the striking doctors.
